Innovative Applications for Cloth Media Filtration

Wednesday, July 9, 2025 12:00pm - 12:45pm EDT
Host: WEF Buyers Guide
By: Kristy Chycota, Product Specialist, Filtration, Aqua-Aerobic Systems; Josh Gable, Product Manager - Filtration, Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc.; and Mark Hughes, P.E., Vice President, Technology, Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc.

Cloth media filtration is a well-established technology for tertiary treatment of municipal wastewater, particularly to meet tight limits for suspended solids, phosphorus, or turbidity.

More recently, cloth media filters are helping to solve additional challenges in wastewater plants. They can be used as advanced primary treatment or wet weather treatment. They can also be used to remove constituents which are not commonly addressed by North American wastewater treatment plants, like microplastics, micropollutants, or heavy metals. Participants will learn how cloth media filters operate. They will be presented with examples of emerging applications for this technology.
