To combat this, wastewater treatment plants can use iron coagulants for phosphorus removal. Stricter regulations are pushing for better nutrient pollution control, and with digital optimization, wastewater treatment plants can rise to the challenge. Chris’s efforts include the marketing of smart solutions that integrate chemical treatments, technical know-how and digital optimization. Chris has worked in sales and marketing management roles in water treatment for over 30 years, and previously worked for Lonza, Pall Corporation and Drew Marine. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry, and an MBA in General Management from the University of Delaware.

Ricardo Colon, Senior Application Specialist at Kemira Water Solutions Inc. During the last 8 years, Ricardo has been working with optimizing and automating chemical processes to deliver cost-effective solutions to clients.
His professional journey began with Infilco Espanola-Pridesa, a construction project at a drinking water plant in the Northeast of Puerto Rico, 20 years ago. As his career progressed he took on roles at OMI Caribe and CH2M Hill at the Ashtabula River Remediation Project in Ohio, gaining expertise in operating water treatment plants and remediating hazardous substances. This wealth of experience inspired Ricardo to establish his own business and work as a contractor, focusing on the operations and maintenance of drinking and wastewater treatment plants. His two decades of professional career reflects a strong commitment to environmental safety and operational excellence in the water-intensive industry.
