The webinar will introduce the principle of a novel and more sustainable MBBR technology. The technology combines a biobased biofilm support material, alternating flow and intermittent aeration mechanisms to obtain the biological environments needed for biomass to remove BOD, achieve nitrification and denitrification and potentially phosphorus removal. The continuous flow process maximizes the use of resources and reactor tankage while keeping a smaller environmental footprint. Full scale and pilot data will be used to demonstrate the system performance.
