    The new Aqua Guard® UltraClean™ represents the next generation of in-channel fine screening, outperforming the original design in side-by-side capture rate tests by over 50%.  This superior performance comes from a series of patent-pending improvements in the “head” of the Aqua Guard® UltraClean™ screen, each drawn from over 30 years of experience with the classic Aqua Guard® platform.

  • Aqua Guard®- Self-Cleaning Moving Media Channel Screen

    The Aqua Guard® is a rugged and proven self-cleaning in-channel screen that uses a unique filter element system designed to automatically remove a wide rang of floating and suspended solids from a wastewater stream.

    These unique elements are woven together on stainless steel shafts to form the endless moving belt that collects, conveys and ultimately discharges the solids that are being removed from the treated wastewater.

  • Rotoshear® PF- Pre-Membrane Screen

    Rotating drum screens with perforated plate screen media are the most successful solution for screening prior to an MBR system. Because Rotoshear® PF uses Rotoshear’s base structure, it is the most reliable and highest capacity screen for an MBR plant.

    Unlike center-flow band screen technologies, Rotoshear® PF does not allow bypass of solids larger than the screen opening. Plants using other technologies often face problems with membranes fouling. As a result of those problems, several plants switched to Rotoshear® PF to eliminate their concerns about membrane fouling.

  • Rotostrainer®- Externally-Fed Rotary Wedgewire Screen

    Introduced over 25 years ago, the Rotostrainer® screen is the original self-cleaning wedgewire screen. With over 700 installations, it is a proven fine screening technology for municipal wastewater treatment plants and many industries with several application capabilities.

    In wastewater treatment plants, the Rotostrainer® unit is renowned as a fine screen for pretreatment. It is also the industry choice for scum screening.  Industrial users, such as meat processors, food processors, tanneries, textile mills, petrochemical plants, and recyclers, rely on it for product recovery and wastewater treatment.

    The screen is externally-fed so that influent is directed under a baffle, then upward and over the length of the cylinder. The natural action of wastewater cascading through the screen creates a powerful backwash which results in a continuously clean surface. Solids are caught on the outside of the screen surface and are removed by a tensioned doctor blade.

  • Helisieve® M- In-Channel Fine Screen

    The Parkson Helisieve® In-Channel Fine Screen combines fine screening, conveying and dewatering to create a highly economical system that produces screenings dry enough to take to a landfill without the need of an additional dewatering press. Screen openings are available in the standard ¼” perforations or optional 1/8”.  The heart of the system is a shaftless spiral with a brush in the screen basket area to keep the screen clean.

    Operation of the spiral is based on level control upstream of the screen basket.  Screened solids are conveyed out of the channel, dewatered and discharged into a dumpster or conveyor.

    Units are available in a tank when a channel is not available. A common in-tank option to pre-treat septage (with special controls) prior to being accepted in a wastewater treatment plant.

    The Helicon® spiral conveyor is the answer for efficient, reliable automatic transport. The conveyor is frequently used in conjunction with other Hycor® equipment to create a solids management system that conveys the screened solids to washing or dewatering, and ultimately to disposal.

    The Helixpress® unit is the cost-effective solution for dewatering the screenings collected by any type of screen. It is an all-in-one conveyor, compactor and dewaterer. It utilizes a combination of drainage, compaction and dewatering to reduce weight and volume and ultimately decrease hauling and disposal costs.

    The Helixpress® is designed to pass the EPA Paint Filter Test which is required on solids dryness for landfill applications. It can convey solids as far as 30 ft. and at a maximum of a twenty degree angle. It is designed to handle screenings up to 157 cu.ft./hr.   • Biolac®- Long Sludge Age Process

    Biolac® is an innovative activated sludge process that allows for extended sludge age to create an extremely stable system that is easy to operate.

    The Biolac® system maintains the required mixing of the activated sludge and suspension of the solids at only 4 CFM per 1000 cu.ft. of aeration basin volume. As a result, air delivery to the basin can be reduced during periods of low loading while maintaining effective food-to-biomass contact and without the risk of solids settling out of the wastewater.

    A major advantage of the Biolac® system is its low installed cost. Biolac® systems can be installed in earthen basins and with or without linings. The BioFuser® fine bubble diffusers require no mounting to basin floors or associated anchors and leveling. These diffusers are suspended from the BioFlex® floating aeration chains. The only concrete structure that is required is for the simple internal clarifier(s) and blower/control–buildings.

  • VariOx™- Jet Aerator

    The VariOx™ jet aeration system is an aeration and mixing device used in numerous water and wastewater treatment applications. Jet aeration combines many of the benefits and efficiencies of both mechanical and diffused air type systems. The jet aerator consists of an inner liquid nozzle and an outer air nozzle. Liquid from the basin is re-circulated through a jet motive pump and discharged through the inner liquid nozzle at a high velocity. Concurrently, air is fed into the outer air nozzle where it is mixed with the motive liquid and discharged as a high energy jet plume.

    The cross flow of motive liquid through the air entering the outer nozzle creates a shearing action which generates a medium to fine air bubble. The air bubbles are entrained within the jet plume and discharged in a horizontal plane into the lower portions of the basin.

    Parkson’s PISCES™ CFSBR is a sequencing batch reactor process which operates in a continuous fill mode. It combines the process benefits of cyclical treatment with the simplified operating concept of continuously filling all reactor tanks at all times. Flow is split evenly to all tanks utilizing a splitter box with manual valves, eliminating the need for cycling automatic valves to control influent. Anoxic and anaerobic fill conditions for filamentous control and nutrient removal are achieved during settle and decant when aeration is turned off, yet flow is still entering the reactors. An underflow baffle provides a barrier between the influent entry point and the main react zone where the decanter is located, allowing settle and decant to occur under quiescent conditions.

  • DynaSand® EcoWash®- Continuous or Intermittent Backwash Filter

    The Parkson DynaSand® EcoWash® Filter is a unique system that filters liquid suspensions to the designed effluent quality, while at the same time cleaning the sand bed so the filter is not shut down during the backwash time. Feed water is passed upwards through the sand bed and exits the top of the filter as clean water. At the same time, sand can be removed from the bottom, cleaned and returned to the top.  A small portion of the filtered water is used to wash the sand and leaves the filter as a reject stream.

    The DynaSand® EcoWash® Filter allows continuous filtration with intermittent sand washing. Operating in this mode, the system reduces the amount of reject water, increases filter performance, maximizes the airlift lifecycle, and reduces maintenance time.

    The DynaSand® EcoWash® Filter is available as either a standalone package unit or a modular concrete design.

  • Lamella® Gravity Settler (LGS) and Lamella® Gravity Settler Thickener (LGST)

    The Lamella® is the original inclined plate gravity settler. Introduced by Parkson in 1971, it has been the industry standard for this technology.

    Inclined plate settling works by having a solid/liquid stream that has been flocculated enter a tank and flow upward between a pack of inclined plates.  The solids fall to the plate surface, where they tumble by gravity down to a sludge collection hopper. The clarified effluent flows through orifice holes and exits the top of the settler. 

    Lamella EcoFlow® is a patent-pending design change that eliminates the area of interference at the bottom of the plates and allows for full utilization of the plate settling area.  This translates to a capacity increase of 25% in the same footprint!

  • SRC & SRM Oil/Water Separator

    Parkson’s Model SRC and SRM Oil/Water Separators offer a reliable, compact, and economical solution to a wide array of oil/water separation applications. The Oil/Water Separators remove free, non-emulsified oil and settleable solids to produce an effluent with less than 10 mg/l of oil droplets 20 micron or larger.

    The influent flow first enters an oleophilic (affinity for oil, not for water) slant-rib coalescing pack where oil droplets adhere to the ribbed pack and merge with other droplets which grow in size and rise to the liquid surface. The design of the coalescing pack and oil attracting characteristics of the media ensures the highest degree of surface contact and coalescing efficiency. Accumulated oil at the surface displaces water and begins to overflow a weir into an oil reservoir where it can either flow out by gravity or can be pumped.
